WACKEN BATTLE SOUTH AFRICA: BUILD UP INTERVIEW - VULVODYNIA \m/
24 MAY 2016
On 23 April, The Winston Pub in Durban, hosted the first of the Battle heats.
The bands involved in the clash were:
Both Desolation and Volvudynia took the first heat in a tie.
This is what the slamming brutal death metal band, Vulvodynia had to say:
What is your take on the show you were specifically apart of?
It was an amazing line up that must of been extremely hard on the judges! After seeing Desolation we knew it was going to be a hard choice, but we're glad we've both made it onto the finals! As for the turn out it was fairly packed which is always nice to see.
Besides yourselves, who were you rooting for, to go through in your heat?
Desolation for sure!!!
Were you guys nervous before your set and why/why not?
Not at the least. We are really confident with our setlist where it currently is and we know there is no use in being nervous. Theres nothing more we crave than playing live. Its where we get to escape and display our dominance.
How do feel your set in particular went down.
We felt the set went down really well. We learnt alot as to what we need to add and work on for the finals.
What was your first thought, when they announced your band as the winners going through to the finals?
"Time to get wasted."
How do you guys feel about going through to the finals?
We are so extactic about the fact that we get to play alongside the best that SA has to offer. Finally we can prove that Vulvodynia is a force to be reckoned with.
Of all the finalist, who are your favourites to win?
If you guys should go on and win the battle, what would that mean for you?
It would mean that we can finally connect with our current german and european fanbase. Winning will also open us up to the opportunerties that Vulvodynia needs to get to the same level as the biggest bands in our genre.
Which of the following do you prefer?
Wein oder Bier?
Bier ganzen Tag jeden Tag.
Kartoffeln, Wurst oder Eisbein?
See you all at the Wacken Metal Battle South Africa, 28 May at Rumours
