EMALYTH ARTS EXPO - BUILD UP
20 January 2016
We certainly couldn't ask for a better way, to kick the year into full metal gear, than with the Legendary Emalyth Arts Expo. Infiniti is the 8th Expo of this kind, hosted by Emalyth at Wolmer Bush Lounge. If you have never been to one of these, you are missing out!
What makes this Arts Expo so unique from any other other arts expo, you might ask?
The fact that there is an array of crazy, weird and wonderful visual and performance artists and their many talents; from musicians, painters, photographers to crafters and more. Exhibiting their art either on stage or off, or even both.
Here, we come together, to celebrate all that is unconventional, alternative, underground, artistic, creative and out of the ordinary. A music festival, craft market and art exhibition all thrown into one!
I am so looking forward to this event, for various reasons. I am an artist myself and find so much inspiration, being surrounded by such incredible artists and exclusive works of art. Throw in some great live music, you can bang your head to, the best company... I mean family and you will have yourself a fucking good time! Not to mention a special, once of performance, by the Sista's of Metal and the International Act, NERVO CHAOS hailing our beautiful country, all the way from Brazil!
I asked some of the participants, what they were most looking forward too.
This is what they had to say:
Hi, I am actually looking forward to, firstly, the most, to walking in and setting up my art and seeing what other amazing art is on display, as usual. ~ Liam - LIVING ARTS GALLERY
The bands, the stalls, the art, the venue, the people. There can be no favourite, I'm looking forward to it all! ~ Caroline - REIGNING RED
I'm looking forward to watching some of South Africa's most epic bands and enjoying a great crowd of people. We'll have fantastic new products available for our favourite bunch of metalheads - KULCHA KOLLEKTIVE
What makes Emalyth unique is the combination of great bands performing live, fantastic art works and the great variety of stalls and while the performance vibe is high energy the off stage vibe is friendly and very relaxed and it is that blend that puts the Emalyth Arts Expo in a league of its own. So you ask what am I looking most forward to this year and the answer is everything ~ Thelma – SOLSKEN CLOTHING
To unleash the Spectral Beast upon the hordes, leading them into infiniti ~ SPECTRAL REALM
The people! They are what we love, most probably because we're fans too. We play music because those who already have completely changed our lives. We play pretending we're in the crowd and if our fellow people are having fun then so are we! ~ Sven – MY COLUMBINE
We are honestly looking forward to seeing our fans and friends after a little time away. Nothing feels cooler than drinking and headbanging with your friends to epic music. We just miss the vibes man, we crave that feeling we get from METAL and thats what were looking forward too. Weve always wanted to be a part of an emalyth gig and we intend to make the most of it. ~ ENVIOUS DESPAIR
We're just excited to be playing at a different venue and playing very very loud! ~ Evert – POLLINATOR
There are so many awesome things we're looking forward to at this years Expo! We've always loved the way this event mixes both visual art and music, two art forms we as a band are very passionate about & we love being a part of that! Of course we're definitely looking forward to our show, it'll be our first show of 2016, so getting the year started off with a bang! We also always look forward to watching and hanging out with our friends from the other bands performing & hanging out with the awesome local music supporters that attend too! :) ~ Brandon – RED HELEN
We are most looking forward to the variety of bands that shall be playing! Sashquita Northey always knows how to choose the most fantastic lineups, always keeping things fresh and different from year to year. There are a lot of bands we havent seen before and a lot we cannot wait to see again! ~ THEATRE RUNS RED
We’re looking forward to tour SA and specially to play @ Emalyth Art Expo 8 and check out the local bands, the local scene and have a blast with all the headbangers at the concert! It’s going to be sick and we can’t wait for it! ~ Edu – NERVO CHAOS (Brazil)
